THE PLAY

Two twenty-year-olds. One family. Four generations apart. In 1930, Filipino immigrant Sinsero toils in the California fields and dances the nights away, surviving an America that wants him gone. In 2026, his great-grandson Sero dances drunk in a shoddy Memphis bar, avoiding his GED, until he takes a job in federal law enforcement aimed at people just like his great-grandfather. In this one-person play, a single actor embodies more than ten characters across four generations, forcing us to ask the questions we are all avoiding: How does a family shift so far from its own history? And after all the violence is done, can we forgive the people who caused it?
