Causes + Activism

Habang may buhay, may pag asa.
While there is life, there is hope.

What I care deeply about...

My work as a activist-artist is to use theatre as a tool to galvanize community and create positive change in our cultural and legal spheres. There have been specific issues that I've centered in my artistic work: community, mental health, suicide awareness, self-harm prevention, immigrant rights, LGBTQ rights and representation, and BIPOC + AAPI representation in all arts and media. Here are some non-profits I've donated to, have an affinity to, or have collaborated with in community organizing.

this PAGE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

This page will feature organizations that I hope you can support, primarily organizations geared towards:
  • Resources for prevention, healing, and community for individuals and folx affected by suicide
  • Community for folx, particularly LGBTQ, who are survivors of self-harm and/or attempted suicide
  • Advocacy and public education around Mental Health issues and Neurodiversity
  • Legal assistance and protection for all immigrant communities in the United States
  • The education of young people of Social Justice and Community Centered Theatre-making

I will also feature specific community programs I've helped co-create and continue to manage:
  • DREAMing Out Loud (Playwriting), a free professional playwriting program for immigrant artists of all statuses through a collaboration among NYTW, PEN America, NQT, Drama Bookshop, and the Mayor's Office of Arts, Entertainment, and Media.
  • Veteran Voices, a free professional theatre program between NYTW and Poetic Theater Productions, geared towards military veterans and their family members who would like to pursue theatre professionally. The program centers military veterans who are fem-identified, LGBTQ, and/or BIPOC.
