Recent and Upcoming Projects

January 2021. Commissioned with Filipina actor Regina De Vera to write a new adaptation of Aristophanes' Lysistrata ​set in the Philippines. Produced by The Sông Collective. First draft coming along!
December 2020. Commissioned to write a new essay for Jacob's Pillow Dance Interactive about contemporary Dance Dramaturgy.

December 2 - 10, 2020. Dramaturging a development workshop of Yilong Liu's PrEP Play, or The Blue Parachute Play. Directed by Adin Walker, produced by National Queer Theatre.

Participating virtually as a director in The Lark's Playground series.

September 2020. Starting a collaboration as dramaturg with playwright Roger Q. Mason. More information to come.

September 23, 2020. Draturging a development workshop of Sam Hamashima's Banana. Directed by Gregory Keng Strasser, featuring Sam Hamashima. Produced by The New Cosmopolitans.

August 5, 2020. Dramaturging a virtual reading of Chay Yew's A Language of Their Own. Directed by Nicholas Polonio, featuring Daniel K. Isaac, Sam Hamashima, Michael A. Rosegrant, a Sean Stack. Stage Managed by Alessandra Mauro, Produced by Sarah Shin + Asian American Theatre Artists of Boston.

July 8, 2020. Guest instructed PUBLIC SPEAKING 101 for youth leaders (15-18 years old) participating in the Vermont branch of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) Youth Development Leadership program.

June 29, 2020. ​Was a guest panelist for the American for the Art's DIAL (Diversity in Arts Leadership) program. Was in conversation with fellow panelists and DIAL fellows (18-22 years old) about dismantling white supremacy in predominantly white arts institutions.

June 25, 2020. Directed Garrett David Kim's Are You There Truman? for Pride Plays 2020. Producers are Nick Mayo, Michael Urie, and Doug Nevin. Held an invited industry presentation via ZOOM after a 29 Hour New Play Development Workshop. Read more here.

June 17, 2020. Join moderators me and Bri Ng Schwartz for a conversation with an intergenerational group of LGBTQ+ theater makers to discuss the past, present, and possible futures of LGBTQ theater in the US. The panelists include André De Shields, Leigh Fondakowski, Ryan J. Haddad, and L Morgan Lee. The panel discussion is a proud collaboration with National Queer Theater.

May 29, 2020. Engaging in a lively hour discussion with NYTW Tow Playwright-in-Residence Victor I. Cazares and Immigration Activist & Medical Professional Ilon Rincon Portas in a NYTW ZOOM webinar about the political intersections of art, activism, immigration, and queerness. This conversation is in collaboration with National Queer Theater and Immigration Equality.

April 27, 2020. Internal Zoom reading of Learning How to Read by Moonlight. Artists involved are from New York City and San Francisco; they are: Ely Sonny Orquiza, Nic Feliciano, Jed Parsario, Marissa L. Ampon, Sergio Mauritz Ang, Ariel Estrada.

December 7-8, 2019. Finished a draft of my newest play Learning How to Read by Moonlight, a Children's Play for Adults ​@ SPACE on Ryder Farm.

November 2019. Joined New York Theatre Workshop as its Community Engagement Associate!

October 23, 2019. Directed for National Queer Theatre's "Pint-Sized Plays" at the legendary gay leather bar The Eagle. I premiered my new theatre-dance piece Kinky Choreopoems! It featured James A. Pierce III, Edgard Toro, and Jess Orense.

October 2019. Starting this month till December, I will participate in several sessions of The Lark's Playground as a stage director.

September 2019. Created cartoons for New York Theatre Workshop's Marketing Department to celebrate the most recent changes to the theatre space! They will be published in late October!

September 2019. Joined the creative team as a Script Supervisor of The Neighborhood Theatre Project's Willmar Project which will make its world-premiere in Spring 2019.

August 17-23, 2019. Production dramaturg for Animus Anima // Anima Animus by Cherry Lou Sy, directed Eugene Lee @ The Public Theatre

August 2019. Completed The Professional Apprenticeship at The Juilliard School,

July 3-6, 2019. Directed Yilong Liu's Joker for the National Queer Theatre's Criminal Queerness Festival at IRT Theatre. Special post-show guest speakers were Bex Kwan, Hubert Silva, Ralph Pena, and Ariel Estrada.

June 23, 2019. Was dramaturg associate for a reading for Chay Yew's A Language of Their Own, directed by Mei Ann Teo. The reading was part of Pride Plays at Rattlestick Theatre.

June 2, 2019. First rehearsal of Yilong Liu's Joker at New York Theatre Workshop rehearsal room. The production is produced by National Queer Theatre, 2019 WorldPride, and IRT Theatre. Rehearsals will continue at IRT Theatre until it's opening at said theatre on July 3rd.

May-August 2019. Contributed Critical Responses for the exhibit “Dance We Must: Another Look" at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival 2019

May 12-15, 2019. ​Workshop presentation of Specially Processed American Me written and performed by Jaime Sunwoo, directed by Talia Feldberg, music by Matthew Chilton, dramaturgy by Gaven D. Trinidad. Presentations were at The Tank in Midtown Manhattan.

May 10, 2019. My short play Star Showers (an ending to an unwritten full length play) was performed at The Duplex. In my absence, my new piece will be performed by actor HanJie Chow. New pieces by singer-songwriter Pearl Rhein and filmmaker Travis Stewart will premiere as well at Hyacinth Production's monthly salon.

April 29, 2019. Commissioned by Ifa Bayeza to dramatize and arrange Ntozake Shange's essay "why i dance" for three performers. Actors Regina Taylor, Alfre Woodard, and Lynn Whitfield performed the piece for A Celebration of the Life and Work of Ntozake Shange at The Public Theatre in New York, NY

March 31, 2019​. New York premiere of 
June is the First Fall by Yilong Liu, directed by Michael Leibenluft, dramaturgy by Gaven Trinidad, Yangtze Repertory Theatre of America. Official opening was April 5th and closed on April 20th.

March 2019, performed as part of MTF Overnight Sensations (24 hour create a musical extravaganza)
